Sky Road

A 6,000+ square foot home overlooking Mount Tam and the San Francisco skyline
Our goal was to surpass expectations of a spec house in this new custom-built home. Instead of designing neutrally to appeal to the widest possible audience, we carefully considered the profile of buyers who might be attracted to the house and designed with them in mind - a family with appreciation for sleek Los Angeles design, moving up north in search of the Bay Area’s natural beauty. We started with statement Ijen Blue quartzite in the kitchen, the soul of the home, and added organically shaped modern pendant lights to allow views of San Francisco Bay to shine through. We imagined the future homeowners as a forward-thinking, active family with Southern California roots and Northern California sensibilities. A family fitting just that profile fell in love with the house and bought it! Some of the more striking features, such as a bold yellow vanity in the shared kids’ bathroom, were indeed selling points. The new owners brought us back on board to turn up the volume even more and continue layering in their personal aesthetic. Awe-inspiring updates coming soon.
